CWP Renewables is investigating the potential to develop, construct and operate a solar photovoltaic renewable energy facility situated 15 km West of Goulburn in the Goulburn-Mulwaree Council area. The proposed Parkesbourne Solar Farm will convert energy from the sun into electricity, producing low-cost renewable energy generation into the NEM. The proposed Parkesbourne Solar Farm could be 400 to 600 MW in capacity and typically include the following infrastructure:
Photovoltaic panels and mounting structure;
• Substation connection;
• Operations and maintenance facility;
• Battery storage;
• Internal access tracks;
• Underground cable network; and
• Security fencing.
The area under investigation comprises of approximately 2,000 hectares of mostly cleared land east of Breadalbane approximately 15 km east of Goulburn. The land extends north and south of the Hume Highway including parts of the Breadalbane plains. The development is currently in the feasibility stage with initial site surveys having been recently undertaken to evaluate the suitability of the land for a solar farm installation.
Community consultation is a key next step and the current focus of our activities. Feedback from the community will help shape the development during the formal planning process; this includes landowners, community members, advocacy groups, Councils and local business owners.
